Making a paperweight at Nourot Studio
Glass Art pieces by the Nourot (pronounced “new-row”) have been made entirely by hand in California for over 35 years. Micheal Nourot founded the studio in San Francisco in 1974. Since then they have created all types of functional and decorative hand blown glass. They are Glass Makers to the Pope, US Presidents, and major corporations. Today the studio is operated by wife, Ann Corcoran and son, Nicholas Nourot.
Beauty, excellence and imagination are what define a work of blown glass by Nourot. Red Satin and Scarlet Nova are trademarks of the Nourot Studio. Each and every glass color is mixed and melted from scratch. Pieces by Nourot are created one of a kind and in series. Custom lighting and architectural commissions as well as custom trophies and awards are created at this contemporary American glass studio.
